Confirmation increases and deepens the grace you received at Baptism by:
- Uniting us more firmly to Christ
- Increasing the gifts of the Holy Spirit in us
- Giving us a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ, to confess the name of Christ boldly, and never to be ashamed of the Cross.” (CCC 1302-1303)
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated in the Fall and again in the Spring. Classes begin in September and end in November or in January and end in April. The program is open to all baptized Catholic college students, parishioners 16yrs+, and other young adults 18yrs+ (For all those who were baptized in another Christian denomination and desire to be confirmed in the Catholic Faith, please visit the OCIA page.)

Confirmation is the third and final Sacrament of Initiation (Baptism, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation) in the Catholic faith, completing the grace given at Baptism.
In the sacrament of Confirmation, the Bishop lays his hands on, prays over with the authority given to him by way of apostolic succession, and anoints with chrism oil, a person who has been both baptized and received their First Eucharist.
This act, by grace, strengthens them and increases the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit so that they may courageously profess their faith in public and sincerely live up to it.
By Baptism a person is initiated into the Family of God, receives the Holy Spirit, and shares in the intimate communion and life of the Holy Trinity – God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
By way of Confirmation, a person is more perfectly bound to the Church, enriched with a special grace, strength, and newfound activating of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and is commissioned through the Holy Spirit to partake in the mission of the God to bring the his Kingdom to the ends of the earth.

Confirmation preparation will lead them to a more intimate union with Christ, familiarity with the Holy Spirit’s actions, gifts, and calling, and will culminate in their receiving of the Sacrament of Confirmation. Preparation will awaken mission and belonging to the Catholic Church of Jesus Christ on the parishioner level and as it applies to the Universal Catholic Church and family.
Christians/non-Catholics who wish to receive this sacrament can prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation) through the process known as OCIA.
